WANdisco continues development of its ground-breaking LiveData technology in Belfast

WANdisco, the LiveData company, is using research and development support from Invest Northern Ireland to develop the next generation of its LiveData platform WANdisco Fusion.

 

WANdisco Fusion, which was originally co-developed in the company’s Belfast office, makes data always available, accurate and protected in multiple locations.

Welcoming the investment, Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI’s Director of Innovation, Research & Development said:

“As the world continues to become increasingly technology-driven, businesses are generating unprecedented levels of data. Our R&D support is helping WANdisco to develop the next generation of its WANdisco Fusion, allowing its customers to move large volumes of data.

“In 2012, we offered the company support to establish a software development centre in Belfast. I am delighted the company is making a reinvestment in Northern Ireland, continuing to develop its patented technology whilst enhancing the skills of the local team.”

Invest NI has offered the company £248,000 of R&D support towards the continued development of the WANdisco Fusion LIVEData platform.

David Richards, CEO and Chairman of WANdisco plc, said:

We do this at a faster pace than any other company in the world. The R&D support provided by Invest NI will help us further develop our unique replication technology to address challenges in new distributed computing technologies like Blockchain.”

Invest NI’s R&D support is part funded by ERDF under the EU Investment for Growth and Jobs Programme 2014-2020.
